Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
RigBuddy ("we", "us") provides a driver vehicle inspection (DVIR) application for truck fleets. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. RigBuddy is a business tool used by fleets; accounts are created and managed by your fleet's administrator.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email address and your role (driver, safety manager, or admin), used to sign you in and associate your activity.
- Inspection data — the vehicles, checklist items, statuses, defects and notes you record during inspections, and the associated date/time.
- Photos — images you capture during an inspection (e.g. tires, brakes, defects).
- Location — when you use location-enabled features (such as a roadside assistance request), we use your device location to provide that feature. Routine inspections do not require precise location.
- Device & usage data — basic device identifiers and push-notification tokens (to send you notifications), and diagnostic information to keep the app reliable.
How we use your information
- To provide the inspection workflow, generate DVIR reports, and let managers review and approve inspections.
- To analyze inspection photos with automated (AI) tools that flag potential defects for review.
- To send operational notifications (e.g. an inspection was assigned or approved).
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Your fleet — inspection data is visible to authorized members of your organization (drivers, safety managers, admins) according to their role.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf to run the app — including cloud hosting and storage, and an AI provider that analyzes inspection photos. These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their services to us.
- Legal — if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Data retention
We keep inspection records and related data for as long as your fleet maintains its account, or as needed for compliance and recordkeeping. You can request deletion as described below.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices & rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Because your fleet manages your account, some requests may be directed to your fleet administrator. To make a request, contact us at the email below.
Children
RigBuddy is a workplace tool intended for professional drivers and fleet staff. It is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
